Become a successful Web Designer with a full range of comfort in the basics, the intermediate and the advanced. Comprehensive coverage of HTML and CSS (and Dreamweaver) will give you the ability to create pages simple and advanced. Design guidance and criteria with best practices in web usability issues, cross platform compatibility, and frontend user-interface creation put you at the forefront of the hot issues of the field and teach you to make your design match your client’s needs.
The course continues to cover CMS (Content Management Systems) design, with a focus on WordPress, a leader in the CMS field to enable complete customization and know-how in this ever expanding area. We finish off with E-Commerce (shopping carts and accepting payments) and the business side of web design.
High-level extras such as animated gifs and JQuery (to produce sizzling slide shows and other cool effects), responsive design, social media and email marketing will hone your skills to a high level. In addition to techniques and methods, the classes focus on teaching you to utilize resources to keep your skills up-to-date with the constant changes in the field. Besides for instructor feedback, a dedicated web tutor is also available to ease the learning curve and for that added extra support.
We consider our mission complete when you have the knowledge and confidence to enter the design market with competency and proficiency and keep your skills ever fresh in the changing markets. Students will finish the complete Web Design program having built 3 sites, a static site, 2 WordPress sites, one of which is E-commerce.
Current web designers and graduate web students can join the CMS/Wordpress module as a standalone course as it relies on proficient knowledge of coding and a significant comfort level in basic web design.
Rivki Teplitz, HTML/CSS (Israel course)
Rivki Teplitz has been teaching computer applications, programming and web design for over 15 years. She studied Computer Science in The University of Maryland at Baltimore County and completed her degree through Ma’alot Baltimore. She is known for her clear teaching style and ability to teach her students how to think and learn for themselves. She lives in Yerushalayim with her family.
Chaya Murik, Design Theory
Chaya studied Design and Marketing at Manchester College of Arts and Technology achieving one of the top five marks in the country. She worked as a Senior Graphic Designer in the marketing department of Oorah, an international non-profit organization and now designs magazines, logos and other print media. Chaya has given of her expertise to many students including conferences at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and co-founded Professional Standard School of Design in Lakewood, NJ.
Peninah Adler, WordPress (Israel course)
Beena Sklare HTML/CSS (USA course)
Beena has extensive experience in teaching Web Design over the past few years, and provides a solid foundation in all aspects of web design. She is also a professional graphic designer and was employed as the main designer at Targum Press as well as maintaining a professional freelance practice. She is praised by her students for her clear teaching skills as well as being patient and accommodating.

Miriam Fisher; Web Design (USA course)
Miriam has been in the graphic and web design field for over 8 years, working for design companies as well as being a web designer at Oorah for 3 years. She has extensive knowledge and background in design, development and user experience design and is very excited to be able to give over her skills to the students at Design Alive.
It is advisable to have a design background before joining this course although knowledge of Photoshop is a must.
Completion of the Fastrack Graphic Design Course has become a popular track for those seeking a suitable foundation in design.
